
Muzzammil Hassan pleaded not guilty of beheading his wife at a Buffalo TV station. The case is expected to go to trial. If convicted Hassan faces 25-years to life in prison.
An article in the NY Daily News mentioned that it might have been an "honor killing." The victim, Aasiya Hassan, 37, filed for divorce Feb 6 and obtained an order of protection barring her husband from their home. Some Muslim men consider divorce a dishonor on their family.
