Here's another cow story on the blog.
April 3, 1996
A Hindu group in India offered today to shelter British cows threatened with slaughter because of mad cow disease, but denied it planned to ship 12 million of them to sanctuary in India.
The cows are probably better off in Britain. Here is a picture of a scrawny-looking Indian cow.
Attitudes towards cattle are just one example of what happens when different cultures collide. Another one concerns funerals. A devout British Hindu is fighting for the legal right to be cremated on an open-air funeral pyre in Britain. (click here for the story).
Here is video of a sheep, which died of natural causes, being cremated in England. It was done to prove that open air-cremations can work without being offensive. It seem like an OK way to depart the planet.
